Sports Day 2009

Be Heard and United Voices attended the 2009 Special Sports Day at the Bracknell Leisure Centre on June 5th 2009.
Members of Be Heard completed against nine other teams as well as against the other two branches of United Voices
for the UV Sports Day Trophy!  This year, the UV Trophy went to Slough.  Many congratulations to Slough on a great day!

You can learn more about the sports day here, and look at some photos of Be Heard members in action below
(many of which are displayed with kind thanks to the wonderful volunteers that joined us from LSI).

Bracknell News also published an article on Wednesday, June 17 2009 that highlighted the work that LSI volunteers did at the sports day (also available online here)

Technology workers from a Bracknell-based company spent a day last week getting stuck in to local volunteering projects.

Staff from technology provider LSI in London Road worked on projects ranging from clearing vegetation at Westmorland Park, Warfield, cutting hedges, litter picking and mowing lawns at the Kerith Centre and cleaning and painting the Barry Square play area in Birch Hill.
Other staff helped out at sports event for the disabled at Bracknell Leisure Centre, Bagshot Road, and painted the Wesley Room at Bracknell Methodist Church in Shepherds Lane.
Bella Daniels, programmes manager, said: “It’s great to see the team out and about with paint brushes and garden tools, really giving something back to the local community.”
